GASLAB Q2

GasLab Q2 is a gas quality analyzer for natural gases. It determines the calorific value and Wobbe index and other parameters of the gas sample. Device applications range from fiscal energy metering to metering, control and regulation. One of the main applications is the control of gas turbine power plants to optimize efficiency, pollutant emissions and system load, even with fluctuating gas qualities. Another application is gas mixing to manage gas specifications in transport, distribution and use.

The device is flameless, works quickly and continuously. The correlative measurement procedure of GasLab Q2 is based on the determination of infrared absorption and thermal conductivity of the gas sample.

The housing provides explosion protection for use in hazardous areas and covers a wide range of ambient temperatures, so no additional protective housing is usually required. This allows the analyzer to be placed close to the process for a fast response time.

In measurement mode, the gas sample continuously passes through the sensor and updates the measurements every second. To speed up sampling, a bypass flow meter is integrated in the housing. The device has a programmable automatic calibration sequence, using methane. Other utilities, such as a gaseous carrier or complex gas calibration mixtures, are not required for operation.

The analyzer has gas connections for the gas sample, calibration gas, sensor port, and optional bypass. There are electrical connections for power and multiple communications, such as Ethernet, serial ports, and analog and digital I / O.

The measured values are transmitted via the Modbus protocol and analog outputs. Modbus is available via two serial ports and an Ethernet interface. In addition, it is possible to connect external alarms to monitor the closing of contacts, e.g. low pressure limitation of the calibration bottle or sampling system.

The integrated display shows the measured values and operating conditions of the analyzer. The analyzer can be operated via the touch pad. The same functionality can be achieved by a web browser that connects to the device. Computer software is used for configuration, data display and recording.

The GasLab Q2 stands out due to its low capital investment and maintenance costs and its simple operation.
